hello world
This is the blog for the Association of Contemporary Jewellers Ethical Committee which we hope will act as a central point for all jewellers looking for ways to examine their practice and make it more sustainable in all senses of the word.
The Committee was set up in September 2006 and is currently run by Jaimie MacDonald, Hazel White and Sarah Kettley.
Jaimie graduated from Edinbrugh College of Art in 2005, and works with recycled materials. She is a key member of staff at the Bits and Bobs Scrapstore in Edinburgh, a community recycling project, and is working on a book for A&C Black on the subect of Recycled Jewellery.
Hazel White is a lecturer in Design Studies and on the Masters of Design at Dundee, and is engaged in research into digital jewellery. She leads the Scotland and North East regional group of the ACJ.
Sarah Kettley is research fellow at Napier University, investigating craft and design processes for wearable computing.
