dream on

The Ethics Committe met last week in Edinburgh to discuss our first small steps to making this blog an active site. We have both (because now there are two) been inordinately busy since setting this up, but then we know that isn't any kind of excuse - we need to get working.

Jaimie MacDonald will be attending the Executive Council meeting on the 22nd September, and conveying these thoughts and intentions more eloquently to the board as a whole. In the meantime, I propose a regular entry once a week no matter how it is related to the core subject of ethical practice. My first enquiries will be concerned with the covetable string of tiny rough cut brown diamonds Marcia Lanyon brought along to Carry the Can last year. If this eminent supplier can show us they are committed to identifying their sources then we are off to a reasonable start, and I will start saving up. Beyond this, I will be looking into the manufacturing processes of PMC and Art Clay. Wish me luck.

We do hope this blog will come to serve as a hub that makers can add to and find answers through. We do not have all the answers ourselves, but are in the same boat as everyone else. Therefore, please share your questions, concerns and of course answers here with the community. Thanks!
